When Size Really Does Matter
London based Metro Concrete explain the advantages of NEW McCloskey Compact Jaw Crusher.
As a recent addition to the already comprehensive range of McCloskey crushers, the J35 is the all new compact jaw crusher, designed to meet big requirements when space is restricted all with zero compromise. The on-board screen and recirculating system is also offered as an option.
Due to its unique crushing action, the J35 produces a smaller and more uniform product and has the ability to crush difficult material. The reverse jaw action makes it ideal for various applications such as asphalt recycling, with it also being well suited to demolition, aggregates and construction projects with plenty of access around the machine. Weighing in at 24 ton and less than 2.5m wide, the J35 is one of the first jaw crushers of its weight and size with a large opening of 890x500 mm in the market and the only jaw of this size to have the recirculating option.
Twelve years in the business and based a stone’s throw from central London, Metro Concrete are using their J35R to produce fully certified finished MOT Sub-base and 6 F2 products for utility companies and to give them a finished product to sell and reuse for their own concrete products.
After extensive market research, Metro Concrete decided on the J35R, Director Phil explains how the new machine has benefited their operation, “with the J35R we are able to produce two finished products and in greater volume due to the ease of mesh change. The low wear, low running costs and small foot print are also a huge plus”, “the configuration of the jaw and the ability to run in reverse means we are able to produce a granular stone material which is quite unique – it’s a fantastic machine for 10mm and 20mm material”.
Based so close to central London, space is limited so the compact design of the new fully London compliant Tier 4 McCloskey J35R has proved beneficial, Phil explains, “with the crusher and screener in one, the process is much more efficient, the machine is easy to use and adjust and we have removed the need for two separate machines which leaves us with more space in the yard whilst reducing our fuel consumption”.
McCloskey Sales Executive, Danny Morgan explained, “the new compact crusher range is proving to be a huge hit with customers. The compact and highly mobile machines are perfect for urban sites where space is restricted but the combination of the crusher and screener together has seen massive benefits for the operators”. Danny added, “the low fuel burn has proved exceptionally positive with the McCloskey patent ECO setting which brings the fuel consumption to below 10 litres per hour”.
