Tomra Sorting to highlight latest sensor-based sorting innovations at Lets Recycle Live 2019

Leading sensor-based sorting specialist, TOMRA Sorting Recycling, has confirmed its participation in the first ever Letsrecycle Live event, which will take place from 22nd – 23rd May at the NAEC in Stoneleigh, Coventr

Experts from TOMRA Sorting’s UK team will be on hand in Hall 2, Stand D3, to highlight the latest developments and innovations in sensor-based sorting for a range of materials.  With UK processors facing challenging market conditions and continued uncertainty surrounding Brexit, TOMRA will stress the vital role that automated sorting can play in boosting not just the volume of end fractions that can be recovered from infeed material, but also the quality.

Gavin Russell, Sales Engineer at TOMRA Sorting, comments: “Letsrecycle Live looks set to be a fantastic networking event, bringing together a vast range of professionals from across the waste management industry.  With 80% of the sensor-based sorting equipment in the UK now supplied by TOMRA Sorting, the show is an ideal platform for us to share the results that our customers are achieving here in the UK and further afield thanks to our latest solutions.

“Current and prospective customers visiting our stand will be able to find out more about our bespoke solutions for optimal recovery and purity of end fractions from both household and commercial waste. Plastics recycling is bound to be a hot topic at the show, particularly given four Government consultations – on Plastics Tax, a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS), the standardisation on Local Authority collections and the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) – will all have just closed prior to the show. Our experts will be happy to talk about our latest technology, such as TOMRA SHARP EYE and Laser Object Detection (LOD), as well as the versatility of existing technology when used in polymer sorting applications.”

TOMRA Sorting will also use Letsrecycle Live as an opportunity to highlight its investment in brand new UK facilities which will ensure that – irrespective of the outcome of the Brexit negotiations – the company continues to offer its UK customers business continuity through the immediate availability of spare parts.

Historically when TOMRA Sorting’s UK customers required spare parts for their sorting equipment, these were delivered to the UK from mainland Europe, with TOMRA only holding a small stock in the UK. The new 12,000 sq feet TOMRA House, which opens officially in July, already holds €1m worth of spare parts available for immediate delivery to customers, eliminating potential problems with imports that other technology providers may face post Brexit.
