Seaforde Metals install OilQuick to machines and forklift trucks

Northern Ireland based Seaforde Metals are a family run business who specialise in processing ferrous and non-ferrous metals and operate a fully licenced waste treatment facility.

Seaforde Metals offer an excellent service and invest only in the most up to date plant and equipment available. One such investment is the OilQuick automatic quick coupler system which they have installed on both their JCB forklifts trucks and Liebherr 934 machine.

Seaforde first saw the potential of the OilQuick system supplied and installed by Warrington based attachment specialists ECY Haulmark for their forklift trucks for reducing the number of onsite vehicles operating around their yard. Now running two JCB models both fitted with the OilQuick OQT8501 for forklift trucks, Seaforde can now change between rotating fork attachments and bail handlers with ease.

Their Liebherr 934 was later fitted with an OilQuick OQ80 and operates with a short dipper which they can mount either their LaBounty MSD2000R scrap shear or their re-handling arm fitted with a scrap grab, allowing for quick, efficient and safe changeovers.

Seaforde Metals Director John Killen explained “The main advantage to installing OilQuick was the reduction in machines, now using one where previously two would have been needed. The increased safety aspect OilQuick gives to us is also really important and we no longer have to deal with the expense and inconvenience of repairing burst hydraulic hoses”.

The OilQuick automatic quick coupler system has become prolific on excavators within the UK demolition industry in recent years, but OilQuick also offers massive potential in increasing safety and efficiency for scrap metal processors and recyclers.

John added “We have been doing business with ECY Haulmark for scrap shears for as long as I can remember, so when it came to investing in the OilQuick system we knew we’d be in good hands”.
