Restructuring at Blue Group

Blue Group have enjoyed a significant period of success over a prolonged number of years, developing a strong customer base, product offering and business infrastructure, with this continuing success story seeing them grow their annual turnover to levels now fast approaching £150 million. At the heart of this growth has been a strong emphasis on Blue Group’s local and regional businesses. These regional businesses mean that there is not just a geographical proximity to customers throughout the consultation and sales process, but also ensures that the company’s sales professionals are more aware of local markets and therefore each individual customer’s specific needs. In addition to this, local offices mean that aftersales back up is close at hand, so engineers can be on site in a very short period of time, minimising any machinery downtime.

In line with this successful strategy, the decision has been taken for all product ranges currently being sold by Blue Machinery Fuchs Ltd, to be sold and serviced through Blue Group’s five core regional businesses - Blue London, Blue Southern, Blue Central, Blue Scotland and Blue Spares. These products include the Fuchs range of Material Handlers, The Taurus Shear Baler Range, the E-Crane range of cranes, and the ZB Hammer Mills. Furthermore, spare parts for these machines will now not only be stocked at Blue’s dedicated spares facility in Warrington, but also at each of these regional offices, meaning improved access and an improved service for customers.

This change will take place on 1st September. Pat James and Chris Mathews, both long-serving members of the Blue Fuchs sales team with an abundance of knowledge and expertise, will continue to support the sales and technical teams at each of the offices. Of course, a key focus of Blue Group is industry leading customer support, so the existing Fuchs engineers will also continue to service The Group’s loyal customers, and will be supported by even more factory trained service personnel regionally.

Should any existing customers have a formal service or R & M contract in place with Blue Machinery Fuchs Ltd, this service will continue uninterrupted, with all customers being contacted on an individual basis to clarify how and by which Blue business this will be managed going forward.”

The current MD of Blue Machinery Fuchs Ltd, Terry Hughes, will be taking up a new position as Product Director of Blue Group to help coordinate overall product strategy across all ranges.
