FDS Waste Services invest in a new Sennebogen materials handler.
Waste management and recycling firm FDS Waste Services has boosted its fleet with the introduction of a new Sennebogen materials handler.
The company, based near Poole, Dorset, has a busy office at its three-acre site and had been looking for a machine that could handle its specific materials handling needs.
After an in-depth discussion over the requirements for its new machine the team at FDS Waste recognised that the Sennebogen 818E would be the ideal solution for its business.
“The Sennebogen 818E is a very flexible machine that can offer so much to a waste handling
specialist such as FDS,” explains Molson Green area sales manager Thomas McKiver, adding, “It is
extremely fuel efficient and offers great all round visibility for the operator. The Sennebogen’s are
machines that are built to handle materials, they are not adapted excavators and so offer better
performance. They are doing what they are built to do.”
The Sennebogen 818E is an extremely fuel efficient machine, saving fuel by working in its ‘ECO
Mode’ with reduced speed and automatic idling mode which reduces engine speed to 40% of that
when working. This helps save significant amounts of fuel which is boosted by its automatic stop
function which switches the engine off if no power is required to the machine.
With an operating weight of approximately 22tonnes depending on attachment and boom size the
Sennebogen offers a cab viewing height of 5.5m when fully elevated.
It is powered by a Cummins QSB 4.5 water cooled diesel engine and boasts a transport width of
2.54m, a maximum transport length of around 9.6m and a transport height of 3.25m.
Operators are well catered for and can work comfortably thanks to its air-cushioned and heated
seat, sensitive joystick control, air conditioning, opening windows and sliding door for ease of exit.
“This is a well-designed machine, as you would expect from Sennebogen. They really are the experts in this sort of highly engineered material handlers which offer the best performance and best value for money for our customers,” says Thomas.
