Brexit and the Irish Sea help to increase turnover at Ulster Shredders.

Amongst other factors, the weak pound and the need to maximise commodity transportation efficiency have helped boost sales at Ulster Shredders.

Exports have increased with recent machinery sales to the Irish Republic, South Africa, Finland, Switzerland and Sweden. Many of these sales are to new clients and markets who have come to recognise the commercial advantage in purchasing from the UK at the current exchange rate. The vast majority of Ulster Shredders’ sales are still going into the confidential destruction and volume reduction sectors both locally and overseas.

Locally USEL, a Belfast based supported employment and learning enterprise providing paid employment for people with disabilities and health related conditions, realised that shipping clean mattress springs whole was not the best way of getting the maximum value from this important steel commodity as a full truck load only weighed a few tonnes. By Shredding the springs down in their new U-45 Ulster Shredder they are now able to gain full potential from their costly freight expenditure.

Just one example of how Ulster Shredders’ range of machines can be used to increase efficiency and profit margins in this current competitive trading climate.
