Ace Plant Quickspray Solves Dust Issues for Council Yard

Aware of potential dust issues, a Council were investigating their options for Dust Suppression at their new 500m2 Road Waste Transfer Depot. Home to the storage and handling of road plainings and various aggregate, this highways location has close neighbours.

Due to the size and nature of the depot a specialist Dust Suppression application would be required to cater for all needs on site – large open areas as well as smaller intricate spaces are but a few of the features of this depot.

Milton Keynes based Ace Plant provided a Quickspray Dust Suppression Unit as a demonstrator for this Council to test. Using the built-in fork sleeves of the Quickspray, this Council’s own JCB417 loader could be utilised. Powered by third service hydraulics, the Quickspray is fitted with a hydraulically driven carbon fibre spinning disc which atomises water into a fine mist – trapping airborne and surface dust.

This method of Dust Suppression enabled utilisation of existing fleet machinery and existing operators i.e. the JCB417 loading shovel.

The trial of the Quickspray unit worked very well and proved to be very capable in terms of area coverage, effectiveness and efficient water usage.

The highways depot stated that the Quickspray is “easy to get around the yard, even with walling separating products”, “easy to Dust Suppress open areas” and “didn’t use much water”.

These remarks from the depot demonstrate that the Quickspray unit is efficient in terms of water usage as well as usability. They then proceeded to purchase a Quickspray unit painted in their own colours – RAL4006 Traffic Purple.
