EFEE World Conference

The European Federation of Explosives Engineers - 5th EFEE World Conference on Explosives and Blasting, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary from the 26 - 28 April 2009 at the Intercontinental Hotel. The 2009 Conference follows the successful events organised by EFEE, held in Munich, Germany in 2000, Prague in the Czech Republic in 2003, Brighton, England in 2005 and Vienna, Austria in 2007.

The format adopted for the Vienna Conference with registration, workshops and the welcome reception taking place on Sunday, followed by the presentations and the exhibition on Monday and Tuesday will be kept.

This year's conference is expected to attract between 400-500 professionals from the International Blasting Community and over 50 countries are expected; making the 5th EFEE World Conference the ideal forum to network and research emerging markets. The Conference will attract explosives users, manufacturers of explosives, accessories and drilling equipment; researchers and professionals involved in all aspects of explosives, development and usage. The exhibition offers the opportunity to see the latest products, equipment, blasting tools and the techniques used.

Papers covering oral presentations and posters include rock blasting, fragmentation, vibrations, detonators, demolition, new applications, decontamination, detonation, training experiences and health & safety. There will also be considered the recent approach concerning security and the recent proposals from the EU.

Budapest is one of the most beautiful and picturesque cities in Europe. Peaceful and bustling, it treasures the old and embraces the new. Here the historic blends with the modern, the hills harmonise with the river Danube, which flows through the city. The beautiful architecture of the several spas provide an excellent opportunity for relaxation. Budapest also has a wealth of fine restaurants and coffee shops for you to immerse yourself in the sweet life of the city.
