Wastecycle Reaches £6 Million Investment Mark in the Last 12 Months

Wastecycle reaches £6 Million Investment Mark in the last 12 months following land expansion and completion of newly constructed high-grade wood picking line.

The acquisition of extra land and the installation of a high-grade wood-picking line has taken Wastecycle’s investment in its East Midlands facilities in the last 12 months over the £6 million mark, resulting in a broadening of services and increased recycling capacity for the firm.

Over the last year, the waste management company has also invested in 24 new vehicles, including a state-of-the-art food waste collection truck, and new equipment such as a specialist blending and screening plant for Structural Materials for Reinstatement (SMR). Additionally, the company has completed an expansion of their main office space in Nottingham, which has doubled the floor space and created an additional five offices for up to 20 people.

Paul Needham, Managing Director at Wastecycle, said: “The new picking line in Nottingham will help improve both the capacity and the sustainability of our wood recycling operation by allowing improved separation of different grades of wood for our end markets, which include feedstock for high-quality animal bedding, fibreboard manufacture and biomass plants.

“The expansion of Toton Aggregates will also be a huge benefit to the company, as it’s provided us with the opportunity to relocate our inert aggregates and demolition waste processing equipment, with its own dedicated site entrance, giving the team more working space for other activities. We’ll also be able to process additional volumes which means we can be even more responsive to short-term changes in market demand. Furthermore, turnaround times for our customers on site will be market leading with four entrances all offering fully manned weighbridges.

“Not only will investing in our facilities give us larger and more efficient working environments, but it will also provide capacity and capability for future growth as the demand for our recycling services continues to grow. We are also committed to improving the sustainability of our recycled products by enhancing quality and developing new markets through innovative new processes. New jobs will be created as a result.”
