The Litronic engine and hydraulics management system provides complete operational data, air-conditioning is standard as is armoured glass, and the fully adjustable seat is heated and equipped with an automatic ventral safety belt. The steering wheel is adjustable and the twin joystick controls are integrated into the seat armrests, providing positive and accurate operation of slew and attachments. The cab is also equipped with a front screen safety grille and a FOPS top guard. For all-round rear space monitoring, the A 934 C Litronic on show is equipped with a rear-view camera and in-cab colour screen.

The R 317 Litronic Industrial Rehandler (Stand OA 195)
The R 317 Litronic Industrial Rehandler is a 22 tonnes class crawler tracked machine, powered by a Deutz TCD2013 LOV4 turbo-charged and aftercooled engine to level III A / Tier 3 with reduced emmissions and rated to 94kW at 1800RPM. The industrial straight boom is 4.6 metres in length with a 3.5 metres industrial stick with tilt kinematics; an hydraulic swivel is fitted for industrial and long-reach attachments. This rehandler is also equipped with a Type SG 25 sorting grapple for direct attachment on to the stick with tipping kinematic. Automatic central lubrication is included.

The resiliently-mounted and air-conditioned cab is a large dimensioned, ergonomic and comfortable work station for the operator, with full instrumentation including Litronic monitor, air-sprung shock-absorbing fully adjustable seat, radio and sound-proofing. Front and top FOPS guards are included and additional front and rear headlights have been fitted. For optimum site and load visibility, the cab on this version of the R 317 Litronic can be hydraulically elevated to give an operator's line of sight of up to 4.5 metres — ideal for stockpiling and loading bulkers or waste processing plants.

The L 5382plus1 PK-HL Waste Handler (Stand OA 195)
The Liebherr L 5382plus1 PK-HL is an articulated, hydrostatic drive wheeled loader in the 12+ tonnes operating weight class and with a tipping load of just over 9 tonnes. Powered by a new generation Liebherr diesel engine type D 934 S AG, developing 105kW, this machine is powerful, agile and responsive. The hydrostatic drive and Stage IIIA / Tier 3 engine combine to produce excellent fuel consumption returns with a corresponding and significant reduction in CO2 emissions.

This L 5382plus1 is specified and factory built for waste handling operations with numerous features for this specific application. Both the axles have limited slip differentials to avoid wheel spin for maximum push, with the added benefit of prolonged tyre life. The loader is equipped with 3000mm parallel high-lift bucket arms, quick-hitch, an Ulrich Hi-Tip bucket, plus a 1778mm fork carrier with pallet forks displayed alongside the machine. Quick-release couplings are included for swift 2-way connection for working attachments.

In a dusty environment, engine protection is paramount and the L 5382plus1 combats dust incursion with a cyclonic pre-cleaner for the engine induction system. The isolated cooling pack is equipped with a fine mesh filter and an automatic reversing fan to maintain cooling efficiency. The operator's cab is typically comfortable, functional and a superb example of the science of ergonomics. Air-conditioned with full instrumentation, it is safety glazed with tinted armoured glass to the front guarded screen, sound-proofed, vibration dampened and with ROPS and FOPS protection. The steering column is fully adjustable and the attachment control is via a multi-directional joystick integrated into the seat armrest.

After Sales Product Support (Hall 17, Stand 1570)
Liebherr-Great Britain Limited has developed a special grab reconditioning service for owners and operators of both clamshell and materials handling 5-tine grabs and is exhibiting this service on their indoor stand. Very soon Liebherr will be in a position to offer an exchange service for the more popular grabs but, if this is not possible, the company also provides the option of a replacement grab on hire at a very competitive rate. Such is their confidence in this service that Liebherr will not charge for grab hire beyond an agreed three-weeks window if the repaired grab is not returned within that time.
This service has proved to be extremely successful, filling a gap in the market for an efficient and money-saving method of giving a grab a second or even third life and avoiding costly downtime. The grab restoration programme is not solely for Liebherr made attachments but encompasses other makes as well, with the unique benefits of this service including fixed price repair and a six month warranty covering both parts and labour. All reconditioning work is carried out at Liebherr's modern workshops by qualified specialist engineers using genuine OEM spare parts.
Also on their indoor stand, Liebherr will be presenting details of its state-of-the-art paintshop, which is staffed by highly professional, trained and experienced personnel and fitted out with the latest vehicle finishing equipment to produce an automotive quality that is the envy of the industry. Whether it is for refurbishment or painting to customers' own specifications, Liebherr's paintshop is capable of providing the highest quality with economy and on-time delivery.
Surface preparation is critical and a separate, fully equipped area of the facility is devoted to this, complete with a dust extraction system. The painting and detailing area includes a chassis pit, paint baking room and the most up to date painting system to produce an outstanding final result.
Such is the capacity of Liebherr's paintshop that vehicles up to massive eight-axle 500 tonnes capacity cranes can be accommodated.
