Eco Baughans, who manufacture a range of screening and crushing equipment for small and medium size recycling applications, recently made a new addition to their range of mobile crushing equipment. The new 20 X 20 ‘Jobber' is designed to handle a throughput of 10-30 tonnes of aggregate per hour and weighs just 6 tonnes.
The range of Baughans mobile crushers often incorporate the use of Overband Magnets for removing any tramp metals that may be present in the product stream thus producing a cleaner end product. As the product is conveyed underneath the magnet, any ferrous materials are removed from the crushed material.
Master Magnets have been the supplier of Baughans' magnetic separation equipment for use on their picking lines, since early 2007 and were keen to work with Baughans to propose a suitable magnet for the new Jobber. To ensure that separation requirements could be met, Master Magnets advised that a magnet with a 150mm operating gap should be use on the crusher. Unfortunately, the framework on a standard magnet of this size proved to be too large once mounted above the crusher's conveyor. Master Magnets rose to the challenge and redesigned the magnet to consist of shorter pulleys, a narrower belt and a smaller steel framework.
Andrew Baughan, owner of Eco Baughan commented " Master Magnets visited our open day and saw the Jobber in action with the standard, larger, magnet. Seeing the problems they set about custom building us a magnet which has a much tidier design to suit the smaller crusher. This commitment to meet customer's exact requirements and their ability to provide a quick turn around for delivery will keep us a loyal customer into the future."
