Double Win For Wastecycle At National Awards Ceremony

Wastecycle, the East Midland’s leading resource management and recycling company, has earned accolades in two categories at this year’s prestigious Saint-Gobain Construction Products supplier awards.

The 2016 ceremony, celebrating all of Saint-Gobain’s suppliers across its 50+ brands – including Weber, British Gypsum and Isover – was held at Marriott Hotel in Leicester on 1st March.

In addition to being the runner-up for this year’s Account Management Award, Wastecycle earned 2016’s Health & Safety Award and was named Supplier of the Year for the plasterboard-recycling service developed as part of their contract with British Gypsum.

Companies such as O2, EON, DHL, Wincanton, GB Railfreight and Hanson were nominated alongside the waste management firm, but, in the end, Wastecycle’s commitment to customer service, innovation, collaborative working and health & safety resulted in them taking top honours.

Paul Needham, Managing Director at Wastecycle, said: “Earning these awards is a great achievement when you consider the caliber of other suppliers that were also nominated. This is a real team Wastecycle effort that we couldn’t be more proud of.

“It’s a huge honour to have been recognised in three categories at this year’s supplier awards, and the results we achieved are fantastic. We’ve been working with British Gypsumfor 15 years, and it’s been great watching our relationship grow stronger over the years.”

Wastecycle’s plasterboard-recycling scheme for British Gypsum, which has already earned Wastecycle a Bronze Green Apple Environmental Award for Best Practice, has prevented over 30,000 tonnes of plasterboard material from reaching landfill each year. Additionally, Wastecycle’s 18-month-old health & safety culture change programme resulted in a 20% reduction in personal injuries during the first half of 2015, in addition to the Wastecycle plaster team remaining accident free for the whole of 2015.
