Excavator control systems from MOBA – efficiency in every dimension

Excavator control systems from MOBA – efficiency in every dimension

Heavy excavators, telescopic excavators, dragline excavators, dragline bucket excavators, dragline shovel excavators – excavators are available in a diverse range of category types. What they all have in common: An excavator control increases the machine performance and precision, thus making it possible to deploy the excavator with significantly more efficiency. With the Easy Dig basic system, the LINK expansion stage and the high-end version Vision 3D, MOBA Mobile Automation AG offers excavator control systems for every requirement.

Easy-Dig: Optimum start with automation
With the new Easy Dig, MOBA offers an affordable and easy-to-install excavator control system that eases and speeds up work. During excavation, Easy Dig measures the depth, incline angle and range. Target and actual values are compared and displayed in real-time on the screen. Based on this information, the operator can precisely steer the excavator bucket and monitor every work step. This makes it possible to exactly execute the excavation work, even in construction sites with poor visibility. With the watertight sensors, it is also possible to work under water. As personnel no longer needs to enter the machine's work area to check measurements, construction site safety is also increased at the same time. With Easy Dig, excavators can achieve optimum results in a wide range of projects; for instance, when digging construction pits, in canalisation or when performing road works.

LINK: Combination of 2D and 3D functions
As a "combined system", in addition to numerous 2D functions, LINK also offers basic 3D functions and is the most inexpensive entry-level model for 3D excavator control. 2D design data are transferred to the system via USB memory stick; simple 3D terrain models can be created directly on the panel. LINK is especially advantageous if a profile has been created that includes two different planes of inclination.

By means of GNSS positioning, the position of the machine is known at all times and the manual surveying of the terrain, as well as check measurements, are largely eliminated. This saves time and money, as no additional personnel is needed for manual re-measurements. All information – for example the position and status of the bucket – is visually represented on the 5.7 inch touchscreen display. Altitude and machine information is also continuously available and can be called up through the clearly structured menu. The system increases work process productivity and makes operation easier for the excavator operator. At the same time, the construction company gains a tool for exactly documenting all projects, also making it possible to provide customers with proof of quality.

Professional Vision 3D system
The high-end Vision 3D system offers comprehensive 3D functionalities. Via an Internet connection, the project data are transmitted directly from the office to the machine. Cross-sectional profiles and slope angles can also be carried out without any problems. The system can work with all common file formats, meaning time-consuming conversions can be eliminated. The position information as well as the incline and height differences of the work area to the reference area are displayed in real-time on the 8.4 inch touch screen. The visualisation of the project area prevents incorrect excavation, corrective work becomes unnecessary and work processes quicker and more efficient. Vision 3D saves all project data for further processing and documentation.

Vision 3D automatically records the GNSS position data of the machine which makes the manual surveying of the terrain, which is time-consuming and personnel-intensive, as well as additional check measurements unnecessary. Automatic position determination increases accuracy and therefore the quality of work processes, saving time and money. To record the orientation of the machine, Vision 3D is equipped with a second GNSS antenna. External GNSS receivers can also be integrated in Vision 3D.

Flexible use for all excavator types
Thanks to the modular structure, an upgrade from Easy Dig to LINK to Vision 3D is possible at all times without any problems. All systems can be flexibly installed on various machines, from mini to large excavators. The clearly structured construction facilitates system operation and machine operator training.

The tele-support for LINK and Vision 3D provides rapid assistance and enables updates without an on-site visit by service personnel being necessary. This cuts downtime, thus contributing to a trouble-free workflow at the construction site.
