Bushveld Earthmovers' recent purchase of a Terex Finlay 984 horizontal screen is the latest addition to its impressive fleet of Pilot Crushtec equipment valued in excess of R20 million.
According to Pilot Crushtec regional sales manager Nicolan Govender, the Northam, North West province-based minerals processing and crushing contractor, purchased the product specifically to screen out a minus 3mm product.
The relationship began eight years ago when Govender visited the company which was using mobile scalping equipment with limited success.
Shortly after this initial contact, Bushveld Earthmovers owner Alan McGill opted to place an order for a new Terex Finlay 883 screen, a decision from which both parties have never looked back.
"They were impressed not only by the screen's output but also our own performance in terms of technical advice and service support," says Govender, adding that since these early beginnings Bushveld Earthmovers has added a further five Terex Finlay 883 screens to its fleet.
Bushveld Earthmovers' core business focuses on the mining of platinum and chrome. It processes vast quantities of material on a variety of sites which places a great reliance on the reliability and staying power of his equipment.
"We believe that the quality and durability of the Terex Finlay compares well with other screens and their performance is outstanding," says McGill, adding that Pilot Crushtec's after sales service has been a major influence in his buying decisions.
"They really go out of their way to help us. We literally just have to press a button and they respond to our needs. Product support is excellent and they have assisted us in improving the output of our screening and crushing equipment which has had a big effect in bringing down our costs per tonne."
Bushveld Earthmovers also owns and operates a Terex Finlay 694 SuperTrak mobile triple deck screen, a pair of Terex Finlay J-1175 jaw crushers, a Pilot Modular MJ1030 jaw crusher, a Pilot Modular BR0605 impact crusher and a Pilot Modular MC600 10m conveyor.
These not only represent a considerable investment in capital equipment but signify the trust that has been built up after nearly a decade of close cooperation.
As McGill says: "Pilot Crushtec people are always ready to help, be they directors, service crews or spares staff. They support us and we support them."
