Gordon Napier, currently Regional Business Manager South Wales, has been appointed to the new position of Director Major Projects.
The role has been created to ensure Lafarge A&C UK secures its share of work from major projects that are anticipated to take place in sectors such as nuclear, wind and renewable energy, transport and waste and water.
The business, which has its HQ at Syston, Leicester, has already been successful in gaining major project work such as enhancements to the A46, M25 and A421.
Building on these successes and developing into new growth sectors will be a vital part of Gordon's new role and essential to Lafarge A&C UK's future commercial strategy.

"I am delighted to be appointed into what will be an exciting and challenging role. Securing Major Projects in a variety of market segments is integral to the long term continued success of Lafarge A&C UK. I intend to build on both our recent successes in supplying major infrastructure projects and also our market leading position in innovative solutions for our customers.
"As part of the Lafarge Group in the UK we already have the infrastructure and assets to enable us to meet the needs of these projects. I look forward to creating value for all of our clients by ensuring Lafarge's core values of Health & Safety, Innovation and sustainable development play a fundamental role in delivering future Major Projects."

The role will operate across all three UK A&C business units and will work in close cooperation with Lafarge Cement UK.
It is intended the role will report by rotation to the A&C UK Managing Directors, initially reporting to Jeremy Greenwood, Managing Director Readymix.
