Vision Techniques launch new video analytics ‘intelligent’ reversing camera

Vision Techniques new MotionEye camera uses video analytics to track people using light, movement and position and alerts the driver of their presence.

Sales Manager Andy Kendal explained ‘We’re very excited to demonstrate the new technology to our customers. Dangers can be seen by our MotionEye system before the driver spots them, reducing the risk of reversing accidents.’

One of the major benefits of the MotionEye system is that the analytics hardware can upgrade any existing reversing camera system, regardless of camera brand or type, making it a truly universal upgrade product.

MotionEye has been developed specifically for the quarrying industry to tackle issues faced with visibility when reversing, giving an improved level of safety in an often dangerous environment.

‘If someone was to walk in the path of a reversing truck with the MotionEye system, the video processor would highlight the person on the monitor and audibly alarm the driver. Anyone that’s on the edge of the camera frame will also be highlighted using box-in-box technology.’

This new product comes soon after Vision Techniques launched their front facing, collision preventing radar system, designed for quarry and construction vehicles with low visibility, called SensorVision:DRIVE.

‘In many ways these new products are an evolution of hazard detection in the quarrying industry, limiting the risk of accidents when making difficult and often dangerous manoeuvres.’
