Vision Techniques find success at Hillhead with ‘video analytics’ reversing camera system

Vehicle safety experts Vision Techniques officially launched their MotionEye camera system at Hillhead 2014, which gathered a wealth of interest with show visitors.

The new product uses a video analytics processor that detects any movement from pedestrians within a cameras field of view.

The safety suppliers use an ultra-wide 180° camera lens that cover blind spot areas but the system could be integrated to any existing reversing system.

Using video analytics means that any hazard can be identified instantly, and the information can be relayed back to the driver through a visual and audible alert system, highlighting any danger on the monitor.

The product gained momentum at Hillhead thanks to its ‘upgradability’. The cost effective video analytics system can connect with any existing camera system from any manufacturer, so it can enhance any existing reversing system with ease.

“We like to think of our MotionEye system as an evolution in reversing cameras.” Explained Andrew Kendal, quarrying and construction sales manager for Vision Techniques. “The system is designed to improve driver awareness when reversing and locate any danger before the driver does, which is perfect in an often dangerous and difficult environment.”

Blackburn based Vision Techniques have been delivering vehicle safety equipment for twenty five years and continue to offer camera systems, auto-braking radars and live recording products to name a few.

The success of this years’ Hillhead exhibition meant a boost in visitors and in interest for safety equipment, with many businesses looking for superior safety solutions.
“MotionEye has definitely been a popular product at this show, and we’re looking forward to installing demonstration kits on several companies that have shown interest this week” Andrew continued, “We hope to prove that reversing large vehicles in a hazardous environment doesn’t have to be a risky manoeuvre.”
