Spoil disbursement opportunities close to M25 / M4 / M40

David Ambrose of Carter Jonas Oxford office acting on behalf of Buckinghamshire County Council, invites expressions of interest from contractors seeking locations for the spreading of spoil from construction projects.

Both opportunities are closed former landfill sites, now considered as having possible potential to accommodate spoil materials from major construction projects .Their locations close to the motorway network to the west of London is likely to be of particular interest.

The first site is at Trenches Lane Langley SL3 6BZ where it can be found just north of the Grand Union Canal, abutting Middle Green to the west and Langley Park Road to the east.  The site is generally fairly level with few obstructions although crossed by two sets of National Grid power lines.  In total the site is approximately 81.26 acres (32.88 hectares).  Trenches Lane lies 1.5 miles north of junction 5 of the M4 and 2 miles from Slough to the west where the M4 can be accessed at junction 6.  The M25 London orbital road lies to the east where junction 15 is approximately 3 miles away.

The second site is at Thorney Park, Thorney Mill Road, Iver Buckinghamshire SL0 9AL.  Following its closure some two thirds of the site became a recreational fishing lake with the remaining area  lying to the north in a triangle of land above the lake. This area is adjacent to Thornley Mill Road to the north and the M25 motorway to the western boundary.  There is a single run of National Grid pylons across the site.  The area of land potentially available is approximately 17.22 acres (6.97 hectares). This is generally fairly level , undulating down to a stream on the eastern boundary.

The site is accessed off Thorney Mill Road, lies just north of junction 15 of the M25 where it meets junction 48 of the M4 with Heathrow and London to the east and Reading and Swindon to the west.

Proposals are now invited from suitably experienced contractors to investigate in more detail the potential of taking a leasehold interest over a number of years, subject to the necessary planning consents being obtained.  Interested parties are required to record their initial interest by noon on 20 January 2017.Approved contractors will be asked to meet the authority’s representatives to explore in more detail the content of their proposals .The cost of site investigations, planning enquiries and all other matters arising will lie with the interested party wishing to pursue the application.

Further details of the site’s history and the proposed opportunity are available from David Ambrose of the Carter Jonas Oxford office on 07775 562064 or david.ambrose@carterjonas.co.uk
