Baioni of Italy explains the results of one year's work, with its successes and challenges

There are now small and medium-sized Italian companies that resist the crisis and compete excellently in international markets, despite the ‘Italian system’ and the crisis in the construction and oil and gas sector are not particularly encouraging. The Italy-based Baioni is just one of them.

We meet Pietro Baioni, CEO of Baioni Crushing Plants Company, to trace a summary of the work carried out in the 2016.

“Investment in R&D is crucial, both for the company and for the country, as shown by the emerging countries. Baioni have 'got the message', we are present as a partner and supplier of many companies working in the field of quarrying, mining, construction, oil and gas, in recent years we have tried to invest in new technologies and additional resources to diversify production and to try to gain new market share, especially abroad. One of the most significant points of the 2016 is the reputation and prestige of our brand, design, and much more of Baioni all over the world, we have reached new agreements and appointed new dealerships, and this is the tangible evidence of an intense market research and job carried out thorough the year.

“We have a broad product range, with 50 core machines currently available for a variety of applications, besides turn key installations, both on a stationary and mobile way. The totality of our products and equipment are manufactured from our Headquarters, in Monte Porzio – Pesaro. Within Italy we count on capability and expertise, these are very high, and we have a network of reliable collaborators and suppliers in the surrounding. Currently the Italy provides 20% of our business, 40% across Africa, 10% Asia, 30% Central and Latin America. We have plans to expand even further with the opening of the new representative office in China in the 2017.

“This move helps in the internationalization of Baioni,” says Milena Bianchi, Head of Marketing. “Having a market presence in China will also open a path to the Russian market. Russia has a long-standing history as a partner for Italian industries. But we need to make our products successful in China before we look at Russia. Our business model at Baioni is that we provide custom solutions to clients through a consultative and quiet long process. At Baioni, transforming what occurs in nature means creating culture. For us this means corporate culture and the culture of our territory. We invest all of our energy towards the fulfillment of a commitment to R&D, quality and innovation that not only reflects but also promotes the cultural reality of our time. We act in an ethically responsible manner towards people and the environment. We comply with environmental standards and aim continuously to improve. We are now promoting the Environment Division of Baioni on a global basis, above all in Europe and Asia, as to increase our products share of international sales. Water treatment and washing products can be easily offered on the Asian market”.

As part of a big exports push, Bianchi says that Baioni is looking into potential co-manufacturing partnerships for its crushing, screening, water treatment and washing solutions in Egypt and the Middle East.

“We have a new dealer in Saudi Arabia and UAE and Kenya, which are big and potential markets for crushing, screening, water treatment and washing equipment. Iran is another interesting market for us, and we are doing a great job on the territory already”.

Ing. Ivan Zanzani, Technical Engineer Director outlined about the Baioni design and sales process around crushing, screening and washing plants. “We believe that our primary aim is to help our clients’ business grow. We love teamwork because it is stimulating, instructive and productive. For this when we join forces, we see beyond normal limits and achieve the best results. Furthermore, valued integrity: for us, doing what is right is a must. We act responsibly in every situation, setting high standards and continuously striving to achieve them. We test the material that the customer is using in our lab. We would send a technical engineer out to site for a full site visit, if necessary, to make sure that everything is handled in the best way”.

The construction and demolition recycling market as well as the crushing and screening have been very busy for us with projects, offers, exhibitions in many different parts of the world, especially Asia, Africa, Europa. We have worked hard to do things differently and stand out from the crowd, as they strive to set the standard for quality, product and service within their sector.
