Liebherr at Scotplant 2010

Once again, Liebherr is exhibiting at this year's Scotplant (Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh - 26th to 27th March), displaying a representative example of Liebherr's high-technology equipment. On show will be two wheeled industrial rehandlers - the A 316 C Litronic and A 904 C Litronic, an L 538Z 2plus1 wheeled loading shovel, a PR 724 LGP hydrostatic bulldozer and one of the "new generation" 6 series excavators, the R 906 Classic crawler excavator. Also displayed on the Liebherr stand will be an immaculate, low hours, pre-owned L 514Z Stereo wheeled loader which is on offer at a special show price.

Liebherr-Great Britain Ltd is on Stand Number 1, Avenue D.

The R 906 Classic

The R 906 Classic is one of the new generation 6 series hydraulic excavators. This is a 22 tonnes class machine, featuring low noise and exhaust emissions with the latest Liebherr engine technology, a superlative operator's cab, which is fully air-conditioned with top and front window guards, and four operating modes from hard dig to precision lifting or grab work.

Powered by a Liebherr made D 934 S, four cylinder diesel engine, output is 105kW at 1800RPM. Bucket capacities are from 0.60m³ to 1.15m³. The show model has a 5.4m monobloc gooseneck boom, a 2.7m stick and is equipped with hydraulic quick-hitch and a swivel circuit. The R 906 Classic produces excellent lifting duties up to 4.20 tonnes at 9 metres working radius. Breakout force is 152kN and digging force is 128kN.

A 904 C Litronic Industrial Rehandler

The A 904 C Litronic on display is a 24 tonnes class machine and features four hydraulic outriggers for exceptional stability and maximum lifting capacities up to 4.50t at 10.50m radius. The Stage IIIA / Tier 3 Liebherr engine develops 105kW and is extremely fuel efficient, with reduced emissions. The industrial straight monobloc boom is 6.60 metres in length and the stick is a 5 metres industrial angled type with hydraulic rotation for the Type GM65 grab attachment. The eight-wheeled undercarriage is fitted with Gumasol 10.00-20/SP20 (MH4) twin tyres and a Liebherr automatic central lubrication system for undercarriage and attachment is included.

The cab is hydraulically elevating, giving the operator an ideal raised line-of-sight of 5.16m for maximum operating safety and accuracy. The luxurious yet functional cab is air-conditioned with air-suspended seat, radio set, full instrumentation and Litronic engine and hydraulics management system, with associated monitor for real-time read-out of machine performance and condition; there is also an overload warning system installed. Additional operational safety equipment includes a front windscreen guard, a rear-view camera with in-cab colour monitor, acoustic back-up warning system, extra front and rear headlights and an amber beacon

The A 316 Litronic Industrial Rehandler

The A 316 Litronic is a wheeled materials handler featuring an hydraulically elevating cab, a 3.5m stick and a 5.5m industrial boom for lift height and long reach capabilities. The machine is equipped with a waste sorting grab and hydraulic swivel for full 360° rotation. For operational stability, the A 316 is fitted with front and rear hydraulic outriggers and, when free-on-wheels, the mobility and agility of this machine provides excellent manoeuvrability around the site.

The A316 Litronic is a 21 tonnes class machine and the engine output is 94kW, providing power to spare. Highly successsful in waste transfer stations and scrap metal processing applications, the A 316 has maximum lift capacities of up to 11 tonnes, an optimum reach of 9 metres and a lift height of up to 9 metres.

The operator's cab is typically comfortable and functional, with Litronic engine, hydraulic and electronic management system and lift charts. A safe load indicator is standard. The cab can be hydraulically raised to give an eye-line of approximately 5 metres and the model on display has a FOPS top guard and front screen guard.

The Liebherr L 538Z2plus1 Wheeled Loading Shovel

The Liebherr L 538Z2plus1 is an articulated, hydrostatic drive machine in the 12 tonnes operating weight class, with a 4.50 tonnes payload and a bucket capacity of 2.5m³. Powered by a new generation Stage IIIA / Tier 3 Liebherr diesel engine, which develops 105kW, this wheeled loader is powerful, agile and highly responsive. The hydrostatic drive and advanced engine combine to produce excellent fuel consumption returns and significant reduction in CO2 emissions. Both axles have limited slip differentials to avoid wheel spin for maximum push, with the added benefit of prolonged tyre life.

The L 538Z2plus1 combats dust incursion with a cyclonic pre-cleaner for the engine induction system and the isolated cooling pack is equipped with a fine mesh filter and an automatic reversing fan to maintain cooling efficiency. The operator's cab is typically comfortable, functional and a superb example of the science of ergonomics. Air-conditioned with full instrumentation, it is safety glazed with tinted armoured glass to the front guarded screen, fully sound-proofed and vibration dampened with ROPS and FOPS protection. The steering column is fully adjustable and the attachment control is via multi-directional joystick integrated into the seat armrest.

The PR 724 LGP Litronic Bulldozer

This 20 tonnes class, low ground pressure (LGP) machine is fully hydrostatic with electronic drive control and is powered by a Liebherr made Stage IIIA / Tier 3 reduced emissions diesel engine, which develops 120kW at 1800RPM. Semi-U and straight blades are available and the version on display is equipped with a 3800mm X 1110mm six-way blade with spill guard. The show model also features the latest in laser equipment for optimum operational precision on site.

The ergonomically designed cab, which is even more spacious than before, features twin joystick levers and the operator's view of the surrounding area and working equipment is ideal. The instrument panel, with its built-in information display for all major machine functions, is positioned in the driver's central field of vision, but does not obstruct his view of the blade. The cabin lining has been optimised for better noise absorption and the hydrostatically driven engine cooling fan only runs when needed, keeping noise down to a particularly low level.

The successful Litronic control system provides an integral operating-data memory that can be read out on the multifunction display and Litronic is now capable of matching the vehicle's steering response to its travel speed, which increases working efficiency even further when a curved path has to be followed.

Also on display and on offer at the show is one of Liebherr's quality pre-owned L 514Z Stereo wheeled loading shovels. This 2006 model has only 2,800 hours on the clock and is offered in excellent fully serviced condition. The machine features hydraulic quick-hitch, automatic lubrication and 17.5X25 Bridgestone VMT L3 tyres. This versatile materials handler is offered with a 6 months or 1,000 hours driveline warranty, service contracts are available, as is a financing package subject to status.
