KTR OAC “eco” – air blast coolers

KTR have extended its range of high-performance coolers by adding an energy-efficient series for 24 volt drives. The highlight of the recently developed eco coolers is a continuously variable speed control which adapts the demand for cooling power improving energy efficiently.

At the heart of the new eco series is a specifically developed control unit. It measures the oil inlet temperature by means of a sensor and uses real time data to control the variable speed motor and achieve a more efficient cooling process.

The benefits of the continuously variable speed control are an optimized energy consumption which contributes significantly to savings in the life cycle costs of the machine.

In addition, it reduces the noise emission many times over, particularly at lower speeds. Subject to the specific usage demands on the motor and fan, the service life of the overall system is increased considerably.

Another special feature is the self-cleaning mode, which can be started at the touch of a button. Upon activation, the rotational direction of the fan is reversed for a 60 seconds period, creating a reversed airflow that cleans the cooling system from dust and dirt.

The electric motors used are specified according to protection class IP65. The maximum cooling power is 25 kW with a temperature difference of 40 °K. The application range of the new generation includes stationary hydraulics, as well as the high demands of marine hydraulics. The coolers are perfectly suited for those applications retrofitting existing machines with new cooling technology.

The coolers are available in KTR sizes 300, 400, 500 and 600 – sizes 700 and 800 available upon request. The electric motors used are specified according to protection class IP65. The maximum cooling power is 25 kW with a temperature difference of 40 °C.
