Hyundai Heavy Industries Sends Aid to Earthquake-hit Ecuador

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), the world’s biggest shipbuilder and a leading construction equipment manufacturer, announced today it recently provided four 21-ton excavators through its local dealer to Canoa and Esmeraldas in Ecuador hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of over 500 people and injuries to over 7,000 people.

The excavators HHI provided to the earthquake-stricken country are already put to work for rebuilding roads and cleaning up the debris of collapsed buildings.

As a responsible corporate citizen in countries where HHI operates, this aid effort is in line with the support rendered to flood-stricken Brazil, and earthquake-hit Qinghai, China, Port-au-Prince, Haiti and Nepal. HHI is exporting construction equipment to about 30 countries in Latin America.
