Mayor opens newly transformed construction yard in Croydon

In an effort to celebrate thriving local businesses, Mayor of Croydon Wayne Trakas-Lawlor officially opened a recently renovated concrete operating yard on Monday in Croydon’s Beddington Lane.

Staff and local families braved the cold to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and mark the expansion of EasyMix Concrete UK Ltd; a local Croydon business and one of the biggest volumetric concrete suppliers in London. The new site will allow for more employment opportunities in Croydon, as the company continues to grow and expand their services and staff.

After being given a tour of the yard, Councillor Trakas-Lawlor stated on Twitter: “[It was a] pleasure to visit EasyMix Concrete today and meet many of the staff from a growing Croydon company that is creating jobs & opportunities."

The new site has been in development for over a year and initially required the demolition of an old two-storey building to make way for 250 metres of concrete to be poured and levelled.

Dan Carter - Business Executive: "It's an amazing feeling to play a role in a young growing business. To obtain this new premises allows us to further grow and nourish our reputation as the best reviewed concrete company in London”.

EasyMix Concrete UK Ltd have a notorious bright orange fleet of vehicles that can be seen consistently across London. With over 20 vehicles to accommodate for, many of them will be kept at the new operating yard.

Steven Brown - Company Director: “ From one truck 10 years ago to a continually growing fleet, I am overwhelmed by what we have achieved and accomplished. The day to day success my EasyMix family deliver is heart warming.”

The Croydon site also hosts a brand new concrete batching plant, which includes the construction of steel framework that will hold two 22,000 litre water tanks.
