Expanding operations with Bollegraaf Baler at Parry & Evans
A Bollegraaf HBC 120 Baler is now an integral part of the expansion of Parry & Evans, a UK family-managed recycling business with recycling centres in Deeside and Welshpool. Always looking to grow its operations with the best equipment, the company chose to install the HBC 120 Baler in order to increase its processing rate and offer its recycling services to a wider range of customers across Wales, The Midlands and The North West of England.
Both companies had similar humble beginnings back in 1961, when two men in different countries had a vision for recycling, way ahead of their time. So it’s fitting that Bollegraaf and Parry & Evans have both grown into market leaders in their areas of recycling, and now come together to maximise operational excellence in the waste industry.
With strong family values and a constant focus on the demands of waste processing for recycling, Parry & Evans continually invests in equipment to keep up with the increased processing load capacity of its plants. The company processes a wide range of materials from cardboard, plastic and office waste through to newspaper, pamphlets and best white grade one paper.
The Bollegraaf HBC 120 Baler is renowned for its reliability and durability, producing more compact, heavyweight bales at the lowest operational cost – exactly what Parry & Evans was seeking, to achieve a processing rate of 3,000 tons per week. The HBC 120 Baler will bale sorted paper and cardboard before it is shipped out to be recycled.
The Baler is capable of processing a larger quantity of heavier bales. Its variable frequency drive enables it to run at a low RPM, so it can default to standby mode after 180 seconds, when not being used. This eco-design offers savings of up to 30% on energy costs.
Bollegraaf balers set the standard in baling worldwide. With 50+ years experience, the company has developed many design features to maximise processing requirements and is renowned for the highest quality materials and robust manufacturing in its machinery. The HBC 120 Baler has a unique pre-press flap which offers 30-40% more capacity by processing more material per cycle, producing more compact, heavier, easier to stack bales.
Looking to the future, the HBC 120 will match the volume and type of recyclables handled by Parry & Evans, with options to further adapt to ongoing needs as the business develops.
Commenting on the installation, Lee Evans of Parry & Evans’ says: “With such a significant investment in our business, it was vital that the chosen baler was totally reliable at increased processing rates. The HBC 120 has a great pedigree and it’s efficient, energy-saving benefits mean that we can confidently expand our range of services across the UK.
The attention to detail we received from Trevor Smart made it an easy choice for us and the installation ran incredibly smoothly thanks to John and the team!”
