Cat®’s K-family tractors D3K, D4K, D5K and D6K offer industry-leading performance with low owning and operating costs

Following the introduction of the first K-family track-type tractor D6K, Caterpillar^® now brings to the market the smaller models of the family: the D3K, D4K and D5K track-type tractors. The D4K and the D5K will be available in Europe, Africa and the Middle East whereas the D3K will be offered in the African and the Middle Eastern markets. Replacing the industry-leading D3G, D4G and D5G, the new models have seen significant updates particularly in terms of operator comfort, AccuGrade^TM readiness and undercarriage system which enable superior performance with low owning and operating costs.

 

Cab improvements ensure easy and productive operation
Comfortable and easy operator environment is the key improvement of the K-family tractors. The seat-mounted controls isolate operator from vibration and the new ergonomic handles reduce operator fatigue while providing intuitive control.

The optional AccuGrade machine control and guidance system is integrated into the machine to create an automated blade control system that allows operators to grade with increased accuracy. The AccuGrade display has been integrated into lower portion of dash providing optimum line of sight between blade and display. The overall cab visibility has also been improved and the legroom increased by eight percent.

Improved hydrostatic control system allows the K-family tractors to be more responsive and manoeuvrable. The hydrostatic winch offers outstanding control of the load with infinitely variable modulation of speed and pull. This results in lower operator effort.

Undercarriage options
In order to minimize the owning and operating costs in different applications the revolutionary SystemOne undercarriage is standard in the European market and available as an options in Africa and the Middle East.

The revolutionary SystemOne undercarriage option greatly reduces maintenance time and costs. It uses a rotating bushing design, which increases bushing life and eliminates the need for bushing turns. The rotating bushing combined with long wear life sprockets and centre tread idler, increases the life and dependability of the entire system.
