CDE scoop Northern Ireland Exporter of the Year Award

CDE scoop Northern Ireland Exporter of the Year Award
CDE have been announced as the 2007 winners of the Northern Ireland Award for Export Achievement. The County Tyrone based Engineering Company, which specialises in the design and manufacture of equipment for the quarrying industry, has been recognized for their rapid expansion and outstanding export success.

The award, organised by the Northern Ireland Institute of Export, was established to recognise the achievement of Northern Ireland organisations in export markets. Now in its twenty second year, previous winners of the award include leading Northern Ireland companies such as Mivan, Grafton Recruitment, The Wright Group, Galen and Ulster Carpets.

Presenting the award, Darren Richardson from the Institute of Export said:
"CDE exemplifies the strategic, sustainable approach to business development in export markets that is essential to the future development of Northern Ireland's private sector. They are worthy recipients of the Award for Export Achievement and I commend them on their success".

CDE's Founder and Chairman Tony Convery added:
"We are delighted to be recognized with this award, especially amongst the high calibre of previous winners. We've invested heavily in research and development and established a series of cutting-edge products. From this product range, we develop solutions which are designed and tailored specifically for the customer.

By expanding our production facilities at our head office, we will be able to further increase both the level and the quality of our production and ensure we continue to offer some of the most innovative products available in international markets. There are major export opportunities worldwide for CDE and our new factory will help us to continue to grow our business".

CDE has seen rapid growth and expansion this year with a 50% increase in staff in its Cookstown head office. With offices now established in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, England, Europe, the Middle East and India, the company has seen vast growth in export sales in recent months. Last year, exports accounted for 97% of the company's total orders, and the company grew by an astounding 120%.
