Millennium Crane Hire Limited Takes Second Liebherr Mobile Crane

Millennium Crane Hire Limited Takes Second Liebherr Mobile Crane
Millennium Crane Hire Limited, has added a second Liebherr mobile crane to their modern hire fleet. A new generation LTM 1095-5.1 has joined the LTM 1055 model the company bought three years ago.  This state-of-the-art all-terrain crane is rated at a maximum 100 tonnes lift capacity and is now the biggest crane in the growing Millennium fleet.

Millennium Crane Hire Limited is based in West Hendon, to the north-west of London. The hire fleet is comprised mostly of all-terrain cranes, with a couple of truck-mounted models, and the company concentrates on a cachement area inside the M25, providing a lifting service for a variety of loyal customers.

The LTM 1095-5.1 is remarkably compact for its impressive performance, which is proving an important benefit for Millennium with their frequent inner city contracts. The five-axle carrier features active rear-axle steering, all-wheel steering and crab walk for the best possible manoeuvrability and agility on site. The hydro-pneumatic Niveaumatic suspension system has automatic level adjustment and the hydraulic outriggers, with rigidly mounted outrigger pads, can be activated from either side of the crane carrier or the crane cab. The carrier is powered by a Liebherr made 370kW diesel engine, with exhaust emissions in accordance with 97/68/EC stage 3 and EPA/CARB Tier 3 standards. A spark arrest system has been included.

The crane itself is also powered by a Liebherr engine, which develops 145kW and, again, this is in accordance with the latest standards for reduced exhaust emissions and also has spark arrest. The six-section telescoping main boom has a length of 58 metres and features the rapid cycle Telematik telescoping system. The crane has been supplied to Millennium Crane Hire with a 10.5m-19m double lattice swing-away fly-jib with hydraulic offset which provides an infinitely variable adjustment of between 0º and 40º. In addition to the 15 tonnes counterweight, an extra counterweight of 8 tonnes has been supplied, to give a total of 23 tonnes of ballast. Maximum under hook height on main telescoping boom is around 59 metres and the LTM 1095-5.1 is capable of lifting 0.9 tonne to a radius of 54 metres in this configuration. With the fly-jib added, the maximum under-hook height is 77m and the lifting capability can attain 0.9 tonne at 50m height and 56m working radius.

Commenting on his new Liebherr crane, Millennium Crane Hire's owner Francis O'Carroll said "We have had great performance and reliability from our first Liebherr mobile crane and we think these are the best machines on the market with excellent duties at reach and height. This made our choice for the company's new flagship crane very easy!"
