Mogensen solves a problem for Marshalls

Imported, finely crushed granite and marine sand were causing a costly problem in the Wet Press Department production line at the Sittingbourne Works of Marshalls plc, the UK's leading hard landscape transformation company. These two feeds into the plant contained oversize, tramp material, which interfered with the operation of the wet press process and resulted in excessive stoppages and loss of production.

Mogensen supplied a fully-enclosed Type C1016 vibrating screen for installation at the raw material intake. This has successfully eliminated the problem by scalping out oversize material coarser than 25mm from the flow of 200tph.

The C1016 machine is 1 metre wide and is fitted with two end-tensioned, overlapping screen decks, which provide an effective screen length of 2.6 m. The unit is powered by a single, 4000 watt Invicta rotary electric vibrator Type BLz50 - 60/6, which induces a rotary vibratory motion.

The screen was commissioned in May 2007 and is reported to be operating satisfactorily.
