At the Tarmac Northern Quarry at Ravelrig a deflector plate on the feed end of the conveyor was wearing out every 10-12 weeks. Stone falling off the end of the belt struck the existing plate which sent it into the feed box. After installation of Linatex Impact Panels onto the plate in August last year the proven benefits were a life extension of up to 20 weeks. Recent replacement of two panels involved just unbolting the old panels and fitting new ones. There has also been a significant increase in ease of maintenance with the new panels as previously this involved cutting away steel remnants and re-welding. Over this period of time utilising the old plate they would have required at least 3 complete plate replacements, involving more weekend down time. Linatex Impact Panels have proved so beneficial and cost effective that they have since used panels on other applications.
At Bardon Aggregates, Duntilland Quarry the application involved was within a chute. Previously the chute required re-plating approximately every three months, involving cost and downtime; since new Linatex Impact Panels were fitted over the Xmas break these have shown no appreciable signs of wear six months after being fitted. On the evidence of this, both Ace and Linatex engineers are confident that the chute lining panel has another six months wear in it. Additionally, there were also significant cost savings by using Linatex Impact Panels as they proved to be nearly 75% cheaper than the original hardened plates that were replaced!
Developed for high performance in areas of exceptionally high wear, impact and abrasion and will absorb noise and vibration. Quick and easy to install, with a unique interlocking design, Linatex Impact Panels provide a quick and cost effective solution in high wear environments.
These high quality panels are light in weight, easy to handle and fit and are suitable for use in either wet slurry, or dry hard rock / quarrying environments.
Panels are compression moulded and available in thicknesses of 30mm, 40mm and 50mm, they are supplied with interlocking fixing plugs which require no pre-alignment, making the panels easier to position and replace as required.
