CDE Ireland Backs Industry Showcase Event At Odyssey

CDE Ireland Backs Industry Showcase Event At Odyssey
CDE Ireland has signed up as the main sponsors for the Quarry Product Association (NI) Showcase event. The event, which is the 2nd Industry Showcase event organized by the QPANI, will be held at the W5 Science and Exhibition Centre at the Odyssey Arena Belfast on Wednesday 12th September.

CDE Ireland, the Cookstown based company specialising in the design and manufacture of high performance turnkey solutions for the sand, aggregate processing and quarrying industries; have demonstrated their continued commitment and support to the industry by sponsoring the showcase event.

"The quarrying industry literally builds the foundations required for the future development of Northern Ireland. Although our products are now supplied in global markets, we recognize the opportunities here in Northern Ireland over the coming years and our sponsorship of this event highlights our commitment to the Northern Ireland industry" stated CDE's Marketing Manager, Peter Craven

The event will be hosted by BBC Newsline and ‘Lets talk' presenter Mark Curruthers and will emphasize the important contribution and impact which the quarrying industry makes to life in Northern Ireland.  With an audience comprised of leading industry experts, government representatives and decision makers, the showcase will be of interest to a broad spectrum of stakeholders.

The spectacular W5 location of the showcase - opposite the site of the upcoming Titanic Quarter development - is a fitting venue for the prestigious event which will welcome leading industry figures including; MLA's, senior civil servants, key regional highways officials, planners and non government organisations (NGO's). Guest Speaker at the event will be Mike Smith, Chief Executive of the Titanic Quarter - which, at 185 acres, is Europe's largest waterfront development.

Chairman of CDE Ireland Mr. Tony Convery is looking forward to the event:

"We are delighted to be associated with such an important event where the most highly skilled industry leaders are working together showcasing best practice. CDE Ireland is proud to be part of the dynamic industry which extracts and delivers essential materials that contribute to the continued growth and development of Northern Ireland".

CDE's sponsorship of this event comes hot on the heels of the announcement that worldwide demand for their innovative product range has created a further 15 jobs at their Head Office in Cookstown over the last 3 months. The company now operates on a global scale with offices in Kokata (India) and the Middle East as well as an office in England.

"Our products have applications on a global scale as is proved by our success in winning major contracts in numerous markets worldwide. We are currently dealing with enquiries in over 30 countries and we fully expect to enter several new markets over the coming 12 months. This will continue to bring further jobs and prosperity to Northern Ireland," comments Tony Convery.

The QPANI represents over 90% of the supply of quarry products to the Construction Industry in Northern Ireland. The Association draws its membership from companies engaged in providing primary aggregates, the processing of recycled and secondary materials, the production of downstream products such as asphalt, lime mortar, ready-mixed concrete, pre-cast concrete and road surfacing contracting.

The quarry products industry in Northern Ireland also produces a wide range of stone products that are essential to modern life, including kerb-stones, concrete floors and beams, paving slabs and concrete pipes which are used to upgrade the roads, water and sewage facilities within the province.
