Malcolm Construction Services Takes Four TEREX Pegson Crushers From Blue Machinery Scotland

Blue Machinery Scotland was recently appointed distributors for the range of TEREX Pegson crushing plants and is already showing early signs of success with this world-class marque. TEREX Pegson crushing plant and equipment commands a leading position in the global markets and their research and development programmes continue to lead the way in providing the mining, quarrying and recycling industries with a superlative range of mobile and static jaw, impact and cone crushers. The appointment of Blue Machinery Scotland as a TEREX Pegson distributor provides the company with a range of mobile crushing plants that complements the screening, washing, recycling and materials handling ranges already distributed by this growing and entrepreneurial organisation. Blue Machinery Scotland has completed a deal with Malcolm Construction Services, headquartered in Glasgow, in what is the first sale of TEREX Pegson crushing plants under the new dealership arrangement and which represents the biggest single sale for Blue Machinery Scotland so far this year. Malcolm Construction Services has taken delivery of four TEREX Pegson mobile crushers, which the company will be working in tandem to create two production lines for the processing of quarried whinstone at Loanhead Quarry near Glasgow, which Malcolm acquired late last year.

Malcolm Construction Services, part of The Malcolm Group, is a multi-disciplined company operating throughout Scotland's central belt. With interests in quarrying, haulage, civil engineering, recycling and waste management - and arguably the largest operator of construction tipper trucks in Scotland - the company also has a large fleet of roll-on-off vehicles and skips. As part of the company's involvement in quarrying and C&D waste recycling, Malcolm Construction Services has also built up a modern and versatile fleet of mobile crushing plants, screeners and associated equipment capable of processing quarried material as well as construction and demolition waste.  Malcolm Construction Services and Blue Machinery Scotland have been working together for many years and this latest plant acquisition further cements a long and fruitful business relationship. Malcolm Group's significant investment in new TEREX Pegson equipment comprises a Premiertrak 1180 jaw crusher, a 1300 and a 1000 Maxtrak cone and one of TEREX Pegson's recently launched XR400 crushing plants, which features hydraulic release.

Loanhead Quarry will see all four new crushers working to process the quarried whinstone, where they will form two production lines to generate a range of eight specified quality materials - including Type 1 Sub-Base CL803, 0/80mm crusher run, 40/80mm scalpings, 40mm to 10mm single size and 0/6mm crushed fine aggregate. With a current reserve of some 25 years, Loanhead Quarry is expected to produce around 450,000 tonnes per annum, serving a national customer base throughout Scotland.
