Skako exhibits new heavy duty feeder at Hillhead 2007
Making its debut on the Skako Comessa stand at Hillhead, will be a special heavy duty feeder, designed to be located directly below a jaw or impact crusher. It is of a compact design, making it ideal for mounting on wheeled or tracked units operating in recycling or general quarry applications, and will take the imposed loads and impact, then give a controlled feed onto a ‘takeaway' conveyor. With a synchronous geared vibrator exciter box giving the vibratory motion, it can be powered by either a hydraulic or electric motor.

The unit to be displayed, and shown on the attached photograph, has a trapezoidal trough, 600 mm wide at the base increasing to 800 mm wide at the top, and approx. 2000 mm long, with a capacity of up to 200 TPH. Having a heavy duty ribbed and welded construction, and fitted with 10 mm thick Hardox 400 replaceable liner plates, it sits on 4 special impact resistant rubber buffers.

The amplitude/stroke is approx. 6 mm, and the exciter can operate between 1000 - 1500 rpm. When using a hydraulic drive, 150 bar is required at 1500 rpm, or 5.5 KW. The mechanical exciter is a geared synchronous vibrator box, which eliminates imposed unbalanced forces, making them ideally suited to most arduous duties.
