- Recycling
Blue Machinery Plc is on Stand Number D1 in the Recycling Zone and their exhibits reflect the group's deep involvement in recycling and materials reclamation, as well as their core business of crushing and screening equipment for the extractive industries.
On the company's stand and on demonstration in the recycling area will be a range of equipment from the Blue Machinery portfolio of distributorships, including machines making their UK show debuts from General Kinematics and Kiverco plus Powerscreen and Terex Pegson screening, crushing and recycling plants. Product support will be represented by Blue Machinery sister company Spares UK and their after-sales personnel will be available on the stand throughout the show.
New! General Kinematics Finger Screen Vibratory Classifiers
Designed specifically for multiple sized separation of mixed waste or single stream recyclable materials, the General Kinematics range employs a patented (non-binding) finger screen design that reduces blinding and blockages that can occur in difficult applications where conventional perforated or wire mesh screens are unsuitable. Full-flow cascading decks and rugged tapered fingers produce an ideal action for the efficient and trouble-free sorting and classification of materials as diverse as mixed C&D waste and even commingled MSW containing glass, paper and plastics.
The high stroke, low frequency vibratory motion ensures material is evenly spread and gives maximum screening efficiency. Staggered fingers and a cascading material flow prevent material bypass, which eliminates the need for secondary screening; a unique "cam out" surface helps to eliminate catching and blinding, with the tapered fingers gradually classifying and freeing tangled materials. Units can be customised to meet specific requirements and applications.
The General Kinematics range features low installation and operating costs, a virtually "jam-free" design with no moving parts and a modular deck construction which permits easy finger replacement. Dynamic balancing and isolation eliminates the need for costly foundations and, as a further saving, energy-efficient natural frequency drives can dramatically reduce operating costs.
New! The Kiverco KL 830 Trommel
The Kiverco KL 830 Trommel is specifically designed for the primary screening and separation of commingled recyclables, MSW, skip waste, commercial, industrial and C&D waste as either a stand-alone machine or as part of an MRF installation. With minimal wearparts and a smooth screening drum, blockages and binding are obviated - even when processing waste materials compacted in RCVs. Materials can be sorted in up to four sizes at rates of up to 20 tonnes per hour or 60 tonnes per hour for MSW (Municipal Solid Waste). Daily maintenance is not a requirement, with only weekly cleaning being necessary to ensure efficient screening and lower operating costs.
The Kiverco KL 830 Trommel features a 2400mm diameter screening drum set at an angle of 6º and with an infinitely variable rotation speed of up to 15rpm. The drum is equipped with removable punched plate screen sections and there is a variety of screen plate apertures to suit customers' specific requirements; there is also a selection of woven mesh or rubber-coated screen plates available. The drum side chutes are fixed with discharge directly under the drum and hinged side chutes allow drum removal through the side of the trommel. An optional collection conveyor to give 2 or 3 ways split is also available.
On Demonstration
In the crushing and screening demonstration area, Blue Machinery is working a Terex Pegson Metrotrak jaw crusher which is feeding a Powerscreen Warrior 1800 screening plant. This is an ideal tandem combination for both quarried products or for producing recycled aggregates from C&D waste, with the Metrotrak producing a consistent quality and size, while the Warrior 1800 features a highly aggressive screenbox for screening, separating and stockpiling to specific end-product sizings.
The Metrotrak mobile crushing plant features Pegson's development in CSS hydraulic adjustment of the "M" Series single toggle jaw. This uses two tapered cross beams, obviating the need for shims and drawback rod for adjustment (40mm to 100mm); feed opening is 900mm X 600mm. Caterpillar powered (131kW/175HP) and equipped with a high efficiency HFO self-adjusting clutch with electro-hydraulic operation, the Metrotrak is capable of an ouput of up to 175 tonnes per hour, depending on setting and material feed.
The Warrior 1800 mobile screening plant is built for tough, high capacity tasks and is one of the most versatile screening machines on the market today. The Warrior 1800 is able to operate with finger screens, woven mesh or punch plate on both top and bottom decks - the top deck can also operate with Bofor bar. Screen angle is hydraulically adjustable and the bottom deck options include "Z" meshes, square elongated meshes, speedharp, flexiharps and self-cleaning balldeck screen.
The machine is capable of screening, three-way splitting and stockpiling and, typically, can be set up ready for operation within 15-20 minutes of arrival on site. Output can be up to 500 tonnes per hour, depending on materials being processed and screen choice.
