Liebherr at The CIWM Show

Once again, Liebherr-Great Britain Limited is exhibiting at the CIWM exhibition in Torbay. On the stand (Number M67) are three materials handling machines from the company's comprehensive range of equipment specifically designed and built for municipal and commercial waste management and landfill operations.

The LR 634 Litronic Tracked Loading Shovel
The fully hydrostatic LR 634 Litronic tracked loading shovel on show is a new generation model equipped with complete factory-fitted landfill kit. The LR 634 Litronic has an operating weight of 23 tonnes, a bucket capacity of 2.4m³ and is powered by a Liebherr engine type D 926 T-E with an output of 135kW. The hydrostatic drive has electronic foot pedal steering control and a single joystick lever for travel speed and direction.

The factory fitted landfill package includes a number of specialist features for the reduction of machine and component contamination, with suitable accessories available for matching to the landfill task and materials being handled. For undercarriage protection, the LR 634 has track guards and track-pads with mud relief holes. Superstructure protection includes a heavy-duty bumper, rear-mounted scraper bar, radiator guard, perforated engine covers, tank and tilt cylinder guards. The operator's cab is fully air-conditioned and lightly pressurised to prevent dust incursion and there is a seal between the cab and the machine's body. Special refuse buckets and spill guards are also available, in addition to standard general-purpose (GP) and 4-in-1 type clamshell buckets.

The A 316 Litronic
The A 316 Litronic is a wheeled materials handler featuring an hydraulically elevating cab, a 3.5 metres stick and a 5.5 metres industrial boom for lift height and long reach capabilities. The materials handler is equipped with a waste sorting grab. For operational stability, the A 316 is fitted with front and rear hydraulic outriggers and, when free-on-wheels, the mobility and agility of this machine provides excellent manoeuvrability around site.

The A316 Litronic is a 17 tonnes class machine and the engine output is 86kW (117 HP) providing power to spare. Highly successs ful in waste transfer stations and scrap metal processing applications, the A 316 has lift capacities of up to 11 tonnes, a maximum reach of 9 metres and a lift height of up to 9 metres.

The operator's cab is typically comfortable and functional, with Litronic engine, hydraulic and electronic management system and lift charts. A safe load indicator is standard. The cab can be hydraulically raised to give an eye-line of approximately 5 metres.

The L 556 High Lift Waste Handler
The Liebherr L 556_2plus2 is an articulated, hydrostatically driven wheeled loader in the 17 tonnes class, with a tipping load of 13,140kg and is one of a range of sixteen wheeled loading shovels from Liebherr. Power is supplied by a Liebherr-made engine which develops 140kW and the high-tip bucket capacity is 5.0m³ for black bag waste. The L 556_2plus2 has a high level, isolated cooling system which is equipped with an automatically reversing fan to maintain radiator cleanliness and efficiency. The hydrostatic driveline system on the loader not only contributes to considerable fuel consumption benefits but also, with limited slip differential in both front and rear axles, produces good efficient pushing power when stockpiling whilst, at the same time, prolonging tyre life. An automatic greasing system is standard and greatly contributes to reducing maintenance time.

The L 556_2plus2 High Lift Waste Handler on display features 3050mm high lift arms which produce a 5.2 metres dump height for easy loading of bulk trailers and waste processors - and with reach to spare. The 4.7 metres pin height of the high lift arm also allows the operator to compact material during the loading process.

Equipment and systems available with this model include automatic fire suppression and weighload system with print out facility. The machine's safety items available are reverse camera, audio reverse alarm, additional working lights and beacons.
