A website helping residents of West Sussex know what, where and how they can recycle different household items has been given a facelift and relaunched this week.
Whether its advice on what can go in the recycling bins collected from your home, or information on where to find your local recycling site to take household items that can't be collected, the re-vamped website aims to provide all the help West Sussex residents need to recycle more things, more often.
Recycling and waste management company Viridor has redeveloped the website as part of its contract with West Sussex County Council to manage the county's 11 Household Waste Recycling Sites and the state-of-the-art materials recycling facility at Ford MRF, which sorts recycling collected from across the county ready for re-processing into new products.
Bill Griffiths, Viridor's National Recycling Manager, said: "As you'll see on the website, more than 38 different items can be recycled in West Sussex.
"Our aim was to make it easier for people to know how they can recycle different things, but also to highlight the importance of keeping items clean, dry and loose so we can maximise recycling rates.
"As well as all this, school groups can learn even more by booking a visit to the Ford facility online."
Lionel Barnard, West Sussex County Council's Deputy Leader and portfolio holder for Communities, Environment & Enterprise, said: "We continually strive to improve the recycling and waste services in West Sussex. This update is important to help our customers continue to increase the amount of valuable material we can keep out of landfill."
