TowerLight and DF Ecology Pilot the Way to South Africa

Tower Light Srl and DF Ecology, the Italian producers of environmentally focussed construction equipment, have appointed a new dealer for their range of machinery in South Africa.

Johannesburg based, Pilot Crushtec (SA) (PTY) Ltd, have been given the responsibility to distribute a wide range of TowerLight and DF Ecology products throughout the region, including the VT8 and VT1 lighting towers and the Dust-fighter dust suppression units.

The VT8 has been developed to operate in arduous environments such as costal and tropical areas, with an individually designed, whisper-quiet, canopy protected by a toughened, treated surface, fitted with safe lockable doors. The VT8 features a strengthened 75-litre capacity metal fuel tank, delivering over 30-hours continuous operation between refuelling, and on-site stability assured via three fully adjustable stabilisers. Wide, bright and dependable illumination coverage is delivered through 4 no.1000 watt metal halide lamps fitted to a manually operated, 8-metre vertical mast, with a safe auto braking system and useful 340 degree rotation.

The VT1 is one of the safest and easiest lighting set to operate. The 9-metre 340° vertical hydraulic mast features a single lever operation, enabling one person to safely erect the mast in less than 30 seconds and the complete unit has been tested in wind speed in excess of 75 miles per hour. The VT1 also has a number of additional environmental attributes, including a full bund for all fluids and whisper quiet noise levels of just 65d(b)a

Dust pollution in pits, mines and on demolition sites, has long been a perennial problem for the industry, especially in hot, dry regions, particularly during the summer months. To help combat this environmental condition, TowerLight/DF Ecology has developed the Dust-fighter range. Dust-fighters produce a fine mist of water through a series of high-pressure jets with the spray propelled onto the site by a powerful fan, covering a wide area in just a few moments. This helps to render the area free from unhealthy and hazardous material. TowerLight's Dust-fighters are either a self-contained unit, with an on-board, super-silenced generator, or powered by a three-phase electric system.

TowerLight's, Daniele Crepaldi visited South Africa to begin a full training programme to ensure that all Pilot Crushtec people are fully informed about TowerLight/DF Ecology equipment. The company has already set up a rolling road show, ready to demonstrate the range throughout the continent, including; Ghana, Zimbabwe, Zambia as well as most major towns and cities in South Africa.

DF Ecology concentrates on the development of innovative construction site machinery that incorporates a range of environmental features that brings together benefits for both the operator and the wider environment. DF Ecology currently manufactures the award winning Dust Fighter dust suppression range, innovative Wash Rack water recycling cleaning system and an environmentally sensitive site wheel-wash set.
