Making power for Peru

Making power for Peru

Pilot Crushtec has supplied a Twister AC07 vertical shaft impact crusher to be used in the construction of a major hydroelectrical development in Peru. According to sales engineer Paul Chappel, the project engineer, who had seen its capabilities while working on the Lesotho Highlands Water Project, specified the crusher for the job.

Purchased by German company Hochtief Solutions AG, the Twister AC07 is producing sand for concrete production and has already made a positive contribution to the project. After completion, it is expected to be used for similar applications in neighbouring Chile.

Following the sale, Chappel oversaw the commissioning process and trained local personnel, necessitating a six-day 2500 kilometre round trip to one of the remotest parts of the continent.

"The project is situated in the foothills of the Andes and the scheme will generate electrical power from the force of the water coming off the mountains," he adds.
