Readymix Central part of CEMEX UK, is the Winner of a RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Award

Readymix Central won the Mining and Quarrying Industry sector for its outstanding approach to the prevention of accidents and ill- health. One of the key health and safety initiative for Readymix Central is the CEMEX Visible Felt Leadership campaign, which encourages managers and senior management to go on site regularly and look at all aspects of health and safety.

Stuart Keighley, Regional Director for Readymix "We are delighted to receive this award which recognizes our health and safety achievements. The programme is focused on improving safety behaviours through observation on site, discussion in workshops and unannounced site visits by senior managers. "We have 85 operations in the region making 1000 deliveries a day using 150 vehicles. It is a major challenge to ensure that every single one of our employees, hauliers and contractors remains safe every day." Aggregates South East achieved a Commended in the same sector, Mining and Quarrying Industry.

This award is one of 12 awards gained by CEMEX UK at the RoSPA awards which included six gold awards and two Presidents Awards.
