During the 2012 M&T Expo, KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens will showcase its GT200DF, a track-mounted cone plant that combines a high-performing cone crusher design with extreme mobility and durability, thereby creating a machine that is flexible enough to economically process small-volume jobs, but rugged enough to tackle the toughest quarry jobs.
The 2012 M&T Expo, which represents that most important tradeshow for machinery and equipment in Latin America, will be held this year in São Paulo, Brazil. Dave McCracken, KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens' international sales director for Latin America, said the company chose to feature the GT200DF because of the rising demand for track-mounted cones.
"We wanted to showcase the Kodiak Plus cone because there's a big market right now for track-mounted cones in Latin America," McCracken said. "I've been working in the South American markets for four years now, and we believe that our best opportunities for growth will be in Brazil, Chile and Colombia. The high growth in the construction market, particularly in Brazil, has resulted in a real need for track-mounted crushing plants. In the past, we have been very strong with our mobile equipment in new highway construction projects in Colombia, and we hope to continue to be able to meet the needs of contractors in South America. The newly-established joint venture - Astec Agregados E Mineracao do Brasil - between our parent company Astec Industries, Inc. and MDE will give us a solid base in Brazil to service our Latin American clients."
At up to 385 tons-per-hour of efficient crushing capacity, the GT200DF provides the lowest operating costs in its class. Its low-profile design allows it to be driven off standard low-boy transport and begin crushing immediately, saving time and money for users. Tracks provide both jobsite mobility as well as the foundation required to isolate plant vibration.
The GT200DF's quarry-duty, K200+ cone crusher features hydraulic adjustment and an aggressive crushing chamber. A loading hopper/feeder enables the plant to be operated as a stand-alone crusher, or an optional re-circulating conveyor enables the GT200DF to be installed in a system with a variety of screening plants. Designed to be as simple to operate and maintain as possible, the GT200DF minimizes electronics that are difficult to troubleshoot in the field and makes liner changes quick and easy with the Kodiak® K200 Plus cone crusher design.
The GT200DF can be combined with the GT125 Jaw Crusher and the GT145S Screen for a portable crushing and screening system.
