The Pearce Group, a long established and integrated service provider of recycling solutions recently chose the latest Loadmaster 8000i and Liftlog 100+ on-board weighing systems supplied by John Evans at RDS South East for their wheeled loaders and fork trucks to speed up operations and enhance productivity.
The Pearce Group offer a comprehensive range of services including compacting equipment, storage containment, bulk recycling, office recycling and collection services via a fleet of vehicles for processing at one of their Material Recycling Facilities (MRF).
At the St Albans HQ, a fleet of forklifts is used to unload trucks coming back from customer collections. Waste paper is graded e.g. best white or mixed and the Liftlog 100+ is used to weigh each skip or container which is tagged. The totals are accumulated and according to Robert Pearce, "provide a good guide of site tonnage of each grade".
Once processed, clamp trucks, also fitted with Liftlog 100+, load bales onto trucks for shipping out to paper and plastic mills to be recycled. The site also handles tin cans, plastic, wood and glass.
The wheeled loaders are fitted with Loadmaster 8000i on-board weighing systems with Robert explaining, "We can be sure the 30 ton bulkers are loaded correctly first time before passing over the weighbridge negating the need to return back to the yard. It has made a big difference in our turn around times improving site productivity, reducing site traffic and contributing to safe working practises"
