Baldwins Crane Hire Limited Adds Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 Mobile Crane to The Fleet

Long-standing Liebherr customer, Baldwins Crane Hire Limited, has taken delivery of yet another Liebherr mobile crane. A new 200 tonnes capacity LTM 1200-5.1 follows hard on the heels of an LTM 1500-8.1 taken last year and this latest fleet addition will be based out of Baldwins’ Newport depot.

The LTM 1200-5.1 has a 72m main telescopic boom and a maximum lifting capacity of 200 tonnes. Baldwins Crane Hire has taken this new crane with the 12.2-22m double fly-jib which can be offset by 0°, 22.5° and 45°, providing a maximum height under hook of 98 metres and an optimum working radius of 78 metres with a maximum 1,000kg load.

The crane superstructure is powered by a 4 cylinder Liebherr diesel engine which develops 145kW at 1800RPM. The crane cab can be hydraulically tilted to provide the best possible load and site visibility and Liebherr’s own LICCON safe load indicator and test system gives the operator continual real-time lifting and performance data.

The five-axle carrier is only 3 metres wide and, with 10x8x10 drive/steer, offers superb agility and manoeuvrability for even the most restricted site or city application. Power is provided by another Liebherr diesel engine which is a six-cylinder 370kW output model. The drive cab features the very latest in technology and ergonomics. Power steering, a 12-speed gearbox with automatic control system, air-conditioning and digital instrumentation all contribute to make the crane carrier cab the most comfortable and functional driving environment possible.
