The PIX Group Applaud the National Apprenticeship Service

The Ipswich based PIX Group of companies has publicly voiced its commitment and support to the young apprentices they employ through the National Apprenticeship Service. Recognising the valuable contribution they make to their business, PIX has been employing young apprentices at their Ipswich headquarters for almost 2 years.

PIX currently employ five apprentices who are training in the areas of Purchasing & Logistics, Accountancy, and Warehousing & Distribution. The first two apprentices joined the company in 2010, successfully completed their initial apprenticeships last year, and are now training towards achieving further relevant qualifications in their particular areas of work.

Catherine Chapman joined PIX Europe as an apprentice in August 2010. Having completed her apprenticeship to obtain a Level 2 NVQ in Business & Administration, Catherine is now studying to achieve a Level 4 Diploma in Purchasing & Supply through distance learning with Cheltenham Tutorial College.
Catherine says: "Joining the apprenticeship scheme at PIX has given me the best possible start I could have for my career in Purchasing. The support I have received from PIX has been outstanding and I have been fortunate enough to have their support to put me through my CIPS courses."

As a company which has managed to grow consistently, even through the recent difficult trading conditions, The PIX Group is committed to supporting and training its employees; and the Company identified some time ago that developing their own talent, through the National Apprenticeship framework, as the "way ahead".

Stewart Booth, Operations Director for PIX Europe, commenting on the success and achievements of the apprentices, said: "There is nothing more important than the development of our future key employees and leaders. We believe the Apprenticeship scheme, managed effectively, is now a vital component of our future plans."
