Welding Alloys Group purchases abrasion resistant coating specialist Produr

Welding Alloys Group reached agreement on 1st January 2012 to acquire Produr SAS, based in Chambery/France. Welding Alloys Group's globally subsidiaries (including Welding Alloys Ltd in the UK) will begin working with Produr as a partner, collaborating in the development of complete solutions in the field of abrasion resistant coatings for customers worldwide.

For over 30 years Produr has developed experience, knowledge and techniques for supplying its customers with solutions against wear. The industries they serve are similar to Welding Alloys Integra customer base, namely cement, power, steel and recycling. However, their technical solutions are not dependent on welding, but include quench and tempered plate, and ceramics. Further details can be found on Produr's website www.produr.fr

Produr has been a customer of Welding Alloys for several years, purchasing our wide range of composite wearplates (Hardlite and Hardplate) and transforming them into components according to customer requirements. With annual sales of €11.5 million, there are over 50 people currently working in Produr will join Welding Alloys global workforce of1,200 employees. Of particular interest for Welding Alloys was the synergy with its current customers and sales territories, and for Welding Alloys Group, there are opportunities to supply new parts using technologies not previously available for our customers, as well as further opportunities for expansion of our WA Integra operation around the world.
