Biofuel heating systems specialists, Scot Heating Company of Stirling, has taken delivery of the UK's first Doppstadt DH 810 Chipper from appointed distributor Blue Machinery Scotland.
Scot Heating Company is a turnkey provider of both renewable energy heating systems and the clean, green source, renewable energy biomass products used to fire the boilers. The company offers a one-stop-shop, providing bespoke biomass solutions tailored to the needs of industry, public and private sectors, ranging from small to large scale installations. Scot Heating supplies and installs complete heating systems, together with ongoing maintenance and the necessary biofuel supplies. It is for the latter that Scot Heating turned to Blue Machinery Scotland to source their new Doppstadt DH 810 Chipper — a machine which is capable of producing the required G30 specification chip.
The Doppstadt DH 810 Chipper is designed to produce biomass to specification from timber and woodwaste, has an hourly output of up to 120 cubic metres and is claimed to be the only mobile chipper on the market which can produce G30, G50 and G90 specification chips. Manufactured in Germany by the renowned and global Doppstadt company, this chipper is robust, reliable and features cutting-edge technology. The machine is powered by a Mercedes Benz diesel engine which develops 360kW and complies with Euromot IIIB emission standards. The rotor, axle, pulley and impeller have a combined weight of 2,700kg for heavy-duty log chipping (up to 810mm diameter) and the closed rotor is equipped with four knives to produce regular and consistent chip sizings with minimal fines. The entire chipper can rotate on its chassis by 270°; the discharge spout is hydraulically foldable and the turntable ensures maximum space utillisation when feeding into a trailer or static bin.
Commenting on their new Doppstadt chipper, Scot Heating Company's owner, Malcolm Snowie, said "We are very pleased with the performance of our new chipper. We did a lot of shopping around with different manufacturers of chippers, but after seeing the Doppstadt and experiencing the service from Blue Machiney Scotland we had no doubts to go for the DH 810."
