After extensive testing and prototyping during 2010, BAV Crushers have launched their new 'CB' range of excavator mounted crusher buckets. Currently, five models are available, covering diggers from 2.5 to 25 tonnes operating weight.
The idea of the BAV-CB range is to sit in between the company's established range of BAV Alligator Crusher attachments, which are designed for primary demolition and the breaking of large chunks of reinforced material, prior to crushing and the BAVTRAK tracked crushers which recycle chunks of rubble producing a re-useable grade of aggregate. BAV Alligator Crushers can reduce material to roughly 100mm and down and can also cut reinforcing wires, but can't easily produce finer grades.
Whilst the BAVTRAKs can render material down to much finer output sizes - at up to 15 tonnes per hour on the 025 model — they are an expensive solution for sites with smaller volumes of rubble. They are also another machine on site — a digger is required to load in any case — and to transport and to buy, and with capital in short supply, many contractors who would ideally like a dedicated tracked crusher lack either the appetite or access to the requisite finance. The BAV-CB range provides the ideal solution and utilises their existing digger. Since nearly every UK spec mini digger and most larger machines now come standard with two-way (reversible) auxiliary hydraulics, the attachment requires no modification to the carrier excavator.
