Bobcat has launched a new family of root grapple attachments for the company's compact loader range. The new root grapples provide a quick and convenient way to clear a site of roots, rocks and debris. The new attachments are therefore ideal for landscaping, rental, construction or grounds maintenance applications. The Bobcat family of root grapples comprises five different models, including 91, 122, 168, 183 and 208 cm wide grapples.
The 91 cm root grapple is approved for use on the Bobcat S70 skid-steer loader and MT55 mini tracked loader. Moving up the range, the next model with a width of 122 cm is designed for use on the S100 skid-steer loader and T110 compact tracked loader. The 168 cm model covers applications on the skid-steer loaders from the S150 to the S205 model and the T190 compact tracked loader.
Suitable for use on Bobcat skid-steer loaders from the S175 to the new S770 model, the 183 cm root grapple can also be used on the A770 all-wheel steer loader and the T190 to T770 compact tracked loaders. The largest 208 cm root grapple is approved for the S175 to S850 skid-steer loaders, the A770 all-wheel steer loader and the T190 to T870 compact tracked loaders.
The root grapples have a heavy duty construction and a fully enclosed mounting frame minimizing flexing in the frame area for improved wear life in tough land-clearing and demolition applications. The curved tooth design enables material to be picked up without driving the teeth of the grapple into the ground and allows dirt to fall out between the teeth. The inertia-welded cylinder ends, a feature exclusive to the Bobcat range, permit strong, smooth, durable grapple operation by improving hydraulic cushioning at the end of the stroke and the protected hydraulic hoses limit the possibility of damage caused by debris.
