Two groups of ten employees from Smiley Monroe completed the Southern Regional College (SRC) 'Business Improvement Techniques' (BIT) Programme this year. The candidates came from a range of disciplines - from export sales to manufacturing.
SRC has delivered a total of 9 improvement projects with companies across Northern Ireland since the beginning of November 2010. All projects have had significant cost benefits, and have seen cost savings ranging from £3000 to £20,000 per annum.
Declan McGrady, Operations Manager, Smiley Monroe, comments:
"Post downturn, the BIT course has put the focus back on Continuous Improvement at all levels within the company. It has aided development of our valued team members, whilst helping them realise their potential and benefit the company. SRC's highly qualified trainers have provided the appropriate amount of teaching, guidance and support to help plan and implement the improvement projects resulting in real cost savings for Smiley Monroe"
