Doosan Wins Biggest Truck Order in Poland

Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment has won the company’s largest order for articulated dump trucks (ADTs) in Poland.
The order for six MT31 ADTs forms part of a new fleet of Doosan machines delivered to Hydrobudowa s.a, a leading Polish contractor specialising in complex civil and hydro engineering, infrastructure and specialist construction projects. Also comprising two Doosan DX300LC crawler excavators and two Doosan DX340LC crawler excavators, the machines have been supplied by Doosan dealer, Grausch i Grausch maszyny Budowlane Sp. z o. o.
Five of the new Doosan ADTs are currently working on the construction of the Bojanowo — Rawicz section of the new high-speed S5 Expressway, whilst the sixth machine is working on the construction of a new Sports Arena in ToruĹ„.
Weighing in at 22.7 tonne, the MT31 ADT features a proven, powerful Scania DC9 engine providing a gross power output of 255 kW (347 HP) at 2200 rpm, a maximum 28 tonne payload, central lubrication, a rear view camera and permanent 6-wheel drive to ensure maximum stability and equal weight distribution.
Working with the ADTs on the new S5 Expressway, all the new excavators are powered by the Doosan DL08 Common Rail engine producing 147 kW (197 HP) of power for the DX300LC and 184 kW (247 HP) for the DX340LC, whilst weighing in at 28.74 and 33.96 tonne, respectively. Both excavators incorporate the EPOS electronic control system and feature a control panel with colour LCD display and output from a rear view camera.
The Doosan trucks are being used to transport loose materials from storage areas to the construction sites and the Doosan DX300LC and DX340LC excavators are carrying out loading work. Bridge and piling works are already underway as are the works for the frame culverts and the utilities, with the reconstruction of telecommunications, sewage and water mains lines already started. Access routes to the main structures have also been completed.

Hydrobudowa Polska s.a. was founded in 2006 following a merger between Hydrobudowa WĹ‚ocĹ‚awek s.a. and Hydrobudowa ĹšlÄ…sk s.a. The history of the company dates back to 1967 when WĹ‚ocĹ‚awskie PrzedsiÄ™biorstwo Budownictwa Wodno — InĹĽynieryjnego first began operating.
In the last few years, Hydrobudowa Polska s.a. has constructed hundreds of thousands of metres of sewage and water mains lines and has modernised over 20 sewage treatment plants. Some of the biggest structures it has worked on to date include a waste disposal plant, a modern refuse sorter, a compost plant, a biogas power plant and a new waste management site at GdaĹ„sk SzadĂłĹ‚ki, covering an area of about 12 hectares.
“This was an important milestone in the company’s growth in the expanding waste management market. Today GdaĹ„sk has an efficient waste storage site which protects groundwater from contamination. Hydrobudowa Polska s.a. will leverage the experience gained from this project when bidding on similar tenders in future. When implementing future projects we will fully utilise Doosan machines. The busy construction season will show how reliable the new machines are,” said Mr Szyc.
In conjunction with strategic investor, PBG, and companies from the Alpine Group, Hydrobudowa Polska s.a. has won contracts for the construction of three stadiums in PoznaĹ„, GdaĹ„sk and Warsaw. The company is in fact leader of the consortium constructing the National Stadium in Warsaw. The main stadium for the Euro 2012 Football Championship, the Warsaw stadium will be completed in the Autumn of this year.
Each of the three stadiums features unprecedented design solutions in Poland and Europe and involve the latest, pioneering technologies and the most complex operations such as the elevation of the roof line structure of the National Stadium, a spectacular event in its own right.
“The experience gained from these projects opens the way for the company to bid on other stadium projects abroad in connection with the 2018 and 2022 World Cups,” stated Mr Szyc.
Hydrobudowa Polska s.a. has also won another major sports contract. As part of a joint venture with PBG, the company has begun work on the construction of the multi-purpose arena in ToruĹ„ where one of the Doosan MT31 ADTs is working, comprising a sports playing area, and cultural and entertainment centre, as well as venue for trade fairs.
The same consortium comprising BPG and Hydrobudowa Polska s.a. has also won contracts for the construction of motorways and high-speed roads for a total of nearly 3.7 billion PLN. This investment will considerably improve road safety in Poland.
At present large-scale construction work is underway on the A4 Motorway (the TarnĂłw-RzeszĂłw section from the KrzyĹĽ to DÄ™bica Pustynia Interchange), the A1 ToruĹ„-StrykĂłw Motorway, (Czerniewice-Brzezie and Brzezie-Kowal sections), the high-speed S5 Expressway (PoznaĹ„—WrocĹ‚aw and Kaczkowo-KorzeĹ„sko sections), and the Bojanowa and Rawicza ring road, using the Doosan ADTs and DX300LC and DX340LC excavators.
