Within their plant at King George V Dock in Glasgow they operate a high capacity, sophisticated fragmentising and separation system, which is capable of processing in excess of 600 tonnes of steel per day. Much of the processed ferrous metal is exported direct to Europe via their deep water sea terminal, whilst non ferrous metals and other recovered materials are recycled into industry within the UK.
Efficient material handling is obviously a key factor within the primary handling of the incoming raw materials, and the company has recently bolstered their capabilities by purchasing two new Sennebogen Greenline 821M machines for deployment on scrap yard duties.
Supplied by the UK distributor, E.H.Hassell, of Stoke on Trent, both machines have an impressive specification and include 600 litre, 5 tine orange peel grabs and magnet generator systems. Solid rubber tyres, Deutz BF4M 1013 diesel engines, and automatic central lubrication systems complete the technical line-up of these workhorses.
John Adam, MD, commented "These are the first two Sennebogen machines we have purchased, primarily because of the build quality. This and the excellent service arrangements in Scotland coupled with a competitive price and quick availability convinced us that these were the right machines for the job."
JR Adam as a worldwide exporter of scrap metal, ferrous and non ferrous can now rest assured that their primary materials handling is now covered by a pair of world renowned material handlers!
