Growing waste management and recycling company Casepak has launched a recruitment campaign to attract key industry specialists to join the management team which will run the company's new £21 million Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Leicester. With the construction of the plant now nearing completion, the company will also be recruiting locally throughout the summer months to fill a further 20 administrative, engineering and operations positions.
The Leicester-based recycling specialist is well known throughout the Midlands for its specialist paper, card and plastics processing facility at Enderby. Here, 77 employees work to divert 145,000 tonnes of recyclable materials, collected through local authority kerbside collections and from business recycling schemes, away from landfill. The new facility, which will become fully operational in September 2011, more than doubles the quantity of material that Casepak can handle and also increases the number and type of materials that can be processed.
The new Materials Recycling Facility is located at Braunstone Frith Industrial Estate, close to junction 21 of the M1. The first phase of recruitment, which is already underway, is focusing on the facility's management team.
Following the appointment of Kevin Thomas to the Casepak Senior Management Team as Director ó MRF Operations last month, the company is now seeking to appoint a Commercial Manager,Commercial Administrator and will shortly be advertising the positions of Production Manager, Environment and Quality Manager and Maintenance Engineer.
Once operational the new facility will initially require 50 employees, with the prospect of an additional 50 being needed as the volume of material sorted and processed increases.
Commenting on the recruitment programme, Kevin Thomas said: "After months of watching the building's shell being constructed, we're now very closeto becoming operational. We are looking for the very best employees to become involved in this project ó people who have a real passion for recycling and understand how it is a really important part of the UK's industrial and local authority landscape. Those individuals will be central to the success of the new MRF.
"Equally, we're looking for individuals with a can-do approach to fill up to 20 administrative and operations positions. We are hoping that we'll find all of this talent close to home in Leicester and are keen to hear from any individuals who have the drive and determination to be the best at what they do."
Casepak was formed in 1973 as a family business. The company currently processes and sells 145,000 tonnes of paper, card and plastics each year at its Enderby facility. The volume and variety of materials processed will be greatly increased when the new MRF opens later this year, which will add a further 150,000 tonnes of processing capacity and enable the company to manage paper, card, mixed plastic packaging, aluminium and steel cans and glass.
